Transparent data and third-party verification pave the way for a greener future.

In a groundbreaking move toward sustainability, Eastman announces the release of its latest resource, the “Life cycle assessment (LCA) of architectural Eastman Saflex and Vanceva PVB interlayers” brochure, featuring four new product additions: Saflex Clear, Saflex Acoustic, Saflex Solar and Vanceva.

This brochure represents a significant leap forward in providing transparent, accurate and reliable environmental impact data for the architectural glass industry.

Credible and transparent data empowering sustainability initiatives

With this comprehensive third-party-verified LCA for Saflex Clear, Saflex Acoustic, Saflex Solar and Vanceva supporting for scope 3 reporting, organizations can now confidently communicate their environmental impact to auditors and stakeholders, bolstering the credibility of their sustainability initiatives.

Precision and differentiation

Gone are the days of relying on generic values. With the LCA data now available by product family for Saflex and Vanceva interlayers, companies can create precise environmental product declarations (EPDs) for their laminated glass range. This precision empowers businesses to stand out in the market by offering accurate and tailored data, enabling customers to make informed purchasing decisions.

A competitive edge in green building projects

Selecting products with an LCA contributes to earning points in green building certification, opening doors for companies to showcase their commitment to sustainability. Voluntary certification schemes increasingly reward the use of products with third-party LCA or EPD certification. By leveraging this data, companies can position themselves for success in green building projects and contribute to a more sustainably built environment.

Unlocking a sustainable future

The release of these product family LCAs marks a significant milestone in the architectural glass industry's journey toward sustainability. Eastman is committed to driving positive change and empowering businesses to make informed, environmentally conscious decisions.

This cradle-to-gate environmental performance enables Eastman to identify opportunities for further improvement on embodied carbon and other impact indicators. It also serves as a reference for developing a road map toward the company’s zero-carbon aspirations for 2050.
