Eastman’s Saflex™ LiteCarbon™ Clear PVB interlayer is now available in Europe, delivering up to 37% less embodied carbon while maintaining standard Saflex performance.

Eastman announces an expansion to its premium Saflex™ LiteCarbon™ Clear PVB interlayer portfolio for the European market. The product is now offered in two thicknesses — 0.38 mm and 0.76 mm — giving window manufacturers and laminated glass suppliers greater flexibility to meet diverse application needs.

Key benefits of LiteCarbon Clear:

  • Lower carbon footprint: Up to 37% reduction in embodied carbon compared to standard Saflex Clear, verified by Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
  • Superior aesthetics and performance: Maintains the unaltered laminated-glass look with high transparency and optical clarity — with no impact on laminated glass safety or processing
  • Process friendly: Easily integrates into existing lamination production lines without changes, reducing complexity and downtime
  • Large panel availability: Supports fabrication of large, 3.2-m laminated glass panels, enabling greater design freedom
  • Cradle to Cradle Certified® Material Health (Silver): Certifies our product's alignment with sustainable material health standards

This portfolio extension supports the building and construction sector’s growing demand for lower-carbon glazing solutions — helping reduce manufacturers’ Scope 3.1 emissions — and contributes to LEED and BREEAM certification credits.
