Kuraray’s Trosifol™ SkyViera™ Powers Ambient Lighting in Mahindra EV Sunroofs

Kuraray Co., Ltd. announced that its Trosifol™ SkyViera™ interlayer for ambient light has been selected for use in the panoramic sunroofs of the BE 6 and XEV 9e models of electric vehicles (EVs) made by Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (hereinafter “M&M”), a major Indian automobile manufacturer.　

In recent years, automobile manufacturers around the world have been focusing not only on improving performance but also on creating exciting experiences that move people. M&M develops next-generation SUVs based on its design philosophy of “Heartcore Design,” which emphasizes delivering emotionally engaging user experiences. Kuraray’s Trosifol™ SkyViera™ interlayer film adds both design features and lighting functionality to glass. It was selected by M&M for its ability to produce intricate designs printed with high-quality and to create sunroof lighting that is highly transparent with clear contrast.

The BE 6 and XEV 9e models are already generating market excitement for their premium aesthetics. Designs range from concepts focused on delivering a luxury experience to a unique, limited-edition version inspired by the dark heroes of American Comics.

About Trosifol™ SkyViera™

SkyViera™ is one of Kuraray’s high-performance Trosifol™ series of interlayer films. It is a special PVB film designed for ambient lighting that creates immersive customer experiences and builds emotional connection. When used in combination with standard PVB interlayer films, it ensures safety performance while achieving a beautiful finish. In addition, unique designs tailored to customer specifications can be printed on its surface. It was used for automotive roof glass in this case, it can also be used for laminated glass for other components.
