Şişecam has brought its recently commissioned solar glass, flat glass, and coated glass investments to full capacity utilization. Having crossed a major milestone in its investment program, the company has now shifted its focus to maximizing the value of this newly deployed capacity, increasing the share of high-value-added products, and further enhancing the contributions of these investments onto its financial results.
Şişecam, a global player in the glass and chemicals sectors, has announced its financial results for the first nine months of 2026. The company’s net sales reached TRY 195 billion in the first nine months of the year while the share of international sales in total sales stood at 59%. During the same period, Şişecam invested TRY 17 billion, while its exports reached USD 707 million. In the first nine months, the company produced 4.3 million tons of glass, 3.3 million tons of soda ash, and 3 million tons of industrial raw materials.
Can Yücel: "Our focus is to maximize the value of the capacity we have built"
Evaluating the third quarter of the year, Şişecam CEO Can Yücel stated:
"The third quarter marked an important milestone in our investment journey. Our Tarsus Solar Glass facility, the Tarsus flat glass line, and our coated glass investments in Bulgaria and Italy have all reached full capacity utilization. With these achievements, we have successfully delivered all greenfield facility investments included in our current investment roadmap. At the same time, we commissioned our second flat glass line in Egypt and entered the final phase of our coated glass investment in India. Having largely completed this major investment cycle, our focus is now on maximizing the value of the capacity we have built. As we ramp up our new facilities, we continue to leverage our global production network through disciplined capacity allocation and operational optimization. Supported by our strong manufacturing footprint, technology and R&D capabilities, and diversified product portfolio, we are well positioned to translate these investments into stronger financial performance and sustainable long-term growth.”
Investments in Solar and Coated Glass Already Delivering Results
Demand for value-added glass solutions continues to grow, driven by rapid urbanization, increasing energy efficiency requirements, and the need to modernize existing building stock. Şişecam's recent investments are positioning the company to capture these opportunities more effectively. Its Tarsus Solar Glass facility is creating new growth opportunities in both domestic and export markets, while its coated glass operations in Italy and Bulgaria are strengthening its global footprint in high-value-added products. As these investments reach full utilization, their contribution to the company's growth and market position is becoming increasingly visible.
A More Predictable Soda Ash Market
The global soda ash market is showing signs of greater balance as the impact of recent capacity additions, particularly in China, gradually moderates. Backed by its strong global position and cost-competitive production structure, Şişecam continues to capitalize on opportunities across its core soda ash business. Notably, Şişecam is developing soda-based, high-value-added products tailored for the rapidly growing energy storage sector.
New Commercial Structure in the US
Positioning the US as one of its primary growth markets, Şişecam has established Sisecam USA Trading to support its operations in this region. Focused on flat glass, solar glass, and glassware business lines, this new entity will bring the company closer to its customers and enable it to capitalize on market opportunities more effectively.
Strong and Profitable Performance in Automotive Glass
Şişecam maintains its robust performance in the automotive glass business line. In this highly competitive global market, the company continues to drive profitable growth through strategic partnerships with automotive manufacturers and auto glass suppliers.
High Discipline in Financial Debt Management and Reduction in Short-Term Debt
During this period of highly selective demand conditions, Şişecam sustained its agile operational approach, anchored in efficiency, cost discipline, and high discipline financial management. Harnessing the flexibility of its robust global production network, the company preserved its competitiveness and financial resilience through a highly disciplined approach to energy, logistics, and working capital management.
