hese awards highlight outstanding achievements in the glazing industry, showcasing continual innovation and evolution, with each edition achieving even more impressive results than the previous year.
In the category of Best Feat of Engineering, the award went to the Westfield-Hamburg-Überseequartier Glass Roof, which incorporates over 8,500 uniquely shaped glass panels, each engineered to meet the demanding aesthetic and performance requirements of the design. Kuraray’s Trosifol® PVB interlayers were selected for the curved roof panels to deliver structural integrity while allowing natural light to permeate the interior, while SentryGlas® ionoplast interlayers were used for the larger laminated vertical façade panels to enhance strength, durability, and post-breakage performance in this high-traffic public space. The laminator for the project was Q4GLASS.
The visually striking One River North apartment block in Denver, USA, claimed two awards—Best Project Team and Project of the Year. The building’s distinctive canyon-like opening, inspired by local geological formations, incorporates laminated panels with SentryGlas® interlayers in the exposed rooftop and terrace zones. These panels deliver high wind resistance and excellent post-breakage performance. The laminator for this project was Millet Glass Industries.
In the category of Best Protective Glazing Project, the Aston Martin Residences in Miami, USA, was recognized. Standing 66 stories tall, the tower is one of the tallest buildings in Florida and uses SentryGlas® interlayers in a significant number of panels to provide protection against hurricanes while offering outstanding transparency, long-term durability in coastal environments, and reliable post-breakage performance. The laminator for this project was Tecnoglass.
“Projects in which our interlayers feature are regular recipients of high-profile awards, every year,” said Alberto Alarcon, Global Marketing Communications Leader at AIS. “We see our consultancy expertise and best-in-class products as enablers that allow architects and engineers to realize their visual and aesthetic dreams, without sacrificing safety, strength, and long-term performance. As our portfolio grows and improves, so do the possibilities for the glazing industry across the world.”
