Suntuitive is the world’s most adopted dynamic glass product and this agreement will extend its market penetration through Manko’s fabrication and geographic footprint.
Manko’s operation features an extensive product offering including a variety of aluminum systems along with a complete line of high-performance glass fabrication capabilities.
Manko had previously been a distributor of Suntuitive dynamic glass and this expansion into fabrication is something that truly pleases Suntuitive President Tom Donovan.
“We are thrilled to build a deeper relationship with the Manko team. They are an industry leader with a successful background. Suntuitive continues to grow rapidly and to add Manko to the push will allow more architects and glazing contractors to experience the best dynamic glass option on the market today.”
Manko was founded in 1989 with headquarters in Manhattan, KS. They also feature operations in Aurora, CO and Des Moines, IA. Manko will be the exclusive certified fabricator and distributor of Suntuitive in all of those states as well as ones that surround them.
“Manko is excited to add the capability of fabricating Suntuitive to our operations and sales offerings. We are always looking to expand our product line to ensure we have the right products to meet our customer’s needs. Dynamic Glass, like Suntuitive, is gaining popularity and we look forward to being a part of that growing trend,” said Kevin Bahner, Manko National Sales Manager.
Suntuitive Glass is the most advanced, yet simplest, dynamic glass technology available. With Suntuitive Glass, architects, building owners, building professionals and homeowners can specify an adaptive glazing system that transitions seamlessly between clear and tinted.
Suntuitive dynamic glass works through the use of a thermochromic interlayer that is activated by heat from direct sunlight, causing the window to tint as necessary. The thermochromic elements are embedded in a PVB (polyvinyl butyl) interlayer, which is then laminated between two pieces of glass. This laminate is then incorporated into the final product, a dynamic insulated glass unit (dIGU). There is no electricity used to make this resilient product work and the window unit installs in the same way a traditional unit does.
