On the territory of the Akhal velayat (region), a glass production plant started operating in the test mode. Completely put into operation this object is planned in early 2018, the correspondent of Sng.today in Turkmenistan reports.

The introduction of this facility will fully satisfy the country's need for glass products.

The plant is designed to produce seven types of products, including transparent, tinted, laminated and tempered glass for windows and double-glazed windows with a total volume of 7.2 million square meters per year.

Also, the company will produce 85 million units of a variety of transparent and colored containers for beverages, vials for medicines ranging from 0.3 to 3 liters.

- The production of glass by flotation is one industrial innovation for our country. Technological lines of the enterprise include a shop for preparation of raw materials, a smelting department, a shop "galay-bath" for the production of sheet glass of various sizes and thickness, the hardening shop and the production of finished products, "said the head of the workshop for the production of float glass Guvanch Garayev.

To equip modern energy-saving technologies, quality and diverse assortment of products, the enterprise will have high competitiveness with an orientation to the promising directions in this area of the market.

The withdrawal of the plant to its designed capacity will significantly reduce the import of the relevant products and eventually adjust its exports, - said Guvanch Garayev.

Note that the construction of a large industrial complex with a factory for the production of quartz sand - the main raw material for glass production started in 2015. The project was implemented within the framework of state programs of import substitution and increasing the export potential of the national economy.
