Lumiglass hits UKAS standard as Germany confirms Gulf Glass Pavilion

Date: 21 August 2012

Lumiglass Industries, a component of Glass LLC, leading processors of laminated safety glass in the Middle East and a subsidiary of Dubai Investments PJSC, received the official standards certification from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) for its improved bullet-resistant product line. The distinction validates the company's strategic direction to provide bespoke solutions for the security and defence industry. The testing was conducted at The King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) testing and evaluation laboratory in Jordan, an accredited laboratory by UKAS.

The research and development team from Lumiglass was present for the testing of the company's armour product lines.

“This continued quest for raised product quality and standards, underpinned by increasingly demanding markets, is one of the keystones for the glass industry’s growth right across the Middle East” says Derek Burston, exhibition director, Gulf Glass 2013.

“It is the realisation of this potential that has already seen some high profile names commit to next year’s Gulf Glass show, even though it is still over a year away” he adds.

“A funded German Pavilion, pavilions from Egypt and China, along with industry leaders such as FIC UK, CNUD, Sklostroj, Parkinson Spencer Refractories, Creative Resins, AGR, MHG Strahlanlagen GmbH and Glassworks Hounsell to name a few, shows just how important the region is seen by all sectors of the industry” he adds.

“We do have the option for expansion” adds Burston “and this may be important, as the initial bookings received have all exceeded our projected average stand size by some margin” he concludes.
