At the centre of this project is the use of OKALUX's innovative KAPILUX W glass.

In the field of healthcare architecture, the new Passerelle at the Inselspital Bern is an example of the seamless integration of form and function.

This bridge was completed in 2023 by Archipel Generalplanung AG. It serves as a literal and metaphorical bridge in the hospital's architecture. On the one hand, it connects the main hospital buildings and facilitates accessibility on the campus, while also allowing the therapeutic properties of natural light to unfold in a tranquil setting.

At the centre of this project is the use of OKALUX's innovative KAPILUX W glass with a surface area of 685 m². This special insulating glass is fitted with capillary tubes that diffuse daylight in a unique way, reduce glare and ensure optimum thermal comfort. The result is a light path that not least lifts the mood and thus promotes well-being - an important aspect in a health centre. The collaboration with Josef Meyer Stahl und Metall AG ensured that this architectural element is an example of sustainability and patient-orientated design.
