At this year’s Glass Performance Days (GPD) 2025, held in Tampere, Finland, Folienwerk Wolfen proudly participated as a sponsor and exhibitor, presenting its latest advancements in thin glass technology.

During the event, the company highlighted insights from a groundbreaking research project focused on the development of laminated thin glass with defined strength and safe breakage behavior. This innovative material offers architects and structural engineers new levels of creative freedom for designing lightweight, free-form façades, while maintaining high safety standards and reducing structural load.

Folienwerk Wolfen expressed deep appreciation for the collaborative support of its project partners: TUD Dresden University of Technology, Schott Technical Glass Solutions GmbH, and the funding bodies Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and AiF Project GmbH.

The company also invited attendees to explore the current issue of the special publication Glass Construction & Facade, featuring contributions by Steffen Bornermann, Md. Abdus Salam, Elena Fleckenstein, and Michael Engelmann, available here.

Building on decades of expertise in plastics processing, Folienwerk Wolfen specializes in high-performance, German-made EVA interlayer films such as evguard® and evguard® MPE. These solutions are designed to enhance glass safety, durability, and energy efficiency—contributing to the future of modern architecture.

For those who missed the event, Folienwerk Wolfen encourages direct contact to discuss exciting developments in thin glass technology.
