The increasing demand for larger glass sheet sizes has lead the company to further recent investments.

Safety Glass Technology Oelsnitz (Vogtl.) GmbH, with a team of approximately 300 employees and a production site in Oelsnitz/Vogtland, Germany, is one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of safety glass that can be found for exterior and interior applications of large-scale projects worldwide.

Their extensive product range focuses mainly in heat strengthened, toughened, laminated and decorated safety glass with technology and capacities in-house to process jumbo-size glass up to 9.000mm x 3.300 mm. The increasing demand for larger glass sheet sizes and the growing interest in the high-quality products “made by SGT” has lead the company to further recent investments among which is the modernization of its decorated glass section, acquiring a jumbo-size digital printing system – Turnkey Solution- from the Spanish leader supplier of digital printing solutions TECGLASS S.L.

SGT, with a long-term experience in the decorated glass sector, it already had fourth screen printing machine systems at their premisses at Oeslnitz , and the bet for the progressive change from analogue to digital has been a strategic decision of the German company, which through the first digital system supplied by Tecglass will be able to offer its customers a wider range of decorated glass products, compared to the limitations of traditional alternative technologies. A solid bet of the company to ensure a smooth transition to digital optimizing resources, flexibility and costs without sacrificing the high quality of the product portfolio offered.

Mr Jörg Beckert - general director of SGT - expressed great enthusiasm with this new installation "Our company has a long experience in the world of glass decoration and we think that now was the right time to introduce digital technology in our factories. Once we have gone through the process of adapting to the new technology, with the Tecglass printing line we are absorbing the work we were doing with traditional technology and this high-capacity line will definitely open up new business and projects opportunities for us. I really believe that we have a bright future ahead and I would like to thank Tecglass for all the support in this new challenging acquisition made by our company".
