Date: 4 September 2026
The presentation, titled "Breaking the Traditional Trade-Off Between Stiffness and Damping in Laminated Glass," will take place on October 20, 2026, from 3:40 PM to 4:00 PM CEST at Hall 10, A10 – Stage 1.
Modern glazing applications increasingly call for a combination of acoustic comfort, structural performance, security and impact resistance — requirements that have traditionally presented significant engineering challenges, as improvements in one property have often come at the expense of another.
Gibson's presentation will address how advanced interlayer technologies are helping to break this trade-off, covering:
- The challenge of combining damping and stiffness within a single laminate concept
- Testing and performance validation
- New application opportunities for laminated glass
The session offers architects, engineers and glass processors an opportunity to learn how these developments are expanding the performance possibilities of laminated glass beyond conventional limitations.
More information on the session is available here.
glasstec 2026 will take place in Düsseldorf from October 20–23, 2026.
