The ceremony was held during a visit of the Chinese state president, Xi Jinping. German Chancellor Angela Merkel also attended the opening ceremony. This should demonstrate the cooperation between Germany and China in the run-up to the G20 summit.
The Panda exhibit is one of the most modern in Europe and an impressive example of technological progress, which was supported by Thiele Glas. The TG-PROTECT® SGP laminated safety glass has been used to meet the particular requirements of the stability, safety and quality of the glass panes.
The foil used in the process allows for substantially thinner constructions with the same safety standard as a conventional PVB foils. It looks yet not only elegant, but also modern.
The glass unit also shows hardly any changes in the physical properties even at high temperatures. The project was carried out in collaboration with the long-standing Thiele Glas partner company Bayer Glasbau GmbH.
The two Great Pandas already used the last few days to familiarize themselves with their new environment. The system as well as the Pandas can be seen during a visit to the zoo.
