Products

We can meet most design or performance requirements for commercial building architectural glass, residential buildings, recreational vehicles (RV), commercial and mass transit.
TIG has a metal spacer insulating glass line that has real-time production control. The line can make IGUs up to 78” x 140”, has dual-seal silicone, and capability to use argon gas.
Warm Edge Technology
Thompson IG uses the latest "Warm Edge" technology to aid in preventing the transfer of cold and moisture. Keep cold and moisture out, and warmth in with high performance Low-E coatings and Argon Gas. This energy-efficient glass gives building owners and homeowners the ability to incorporate larger window spaces into their office or home.
Commercial Building Architectural Glass
With an extensive range of coated and uncoated glass types, Thompson IG can satisfy the most demanding architectural requirements. This can include slope and butt glazing applications, silicone seal and dual seal. On site delivery is available upon request.
Residential Buildings
Thompson IG features many custom residential building glass services, including straight-line, shape v-grooving, decorative contours and custom-shaped muntin bars.
Recreation (RV), Commercial Vehicles and Mass Transit
Glass fabricated for the recreation and commercial vehicle industry is structurally sealed to provide the best strength and energy-efficiency available. With today's modern RV designs, the multitude of colors available through Thompson IG creates great aesthetic appeal.

Heat strengthened glass is twice as strong as annealed glass while fully tempered glass is typically four times the strength of annealed glass.
Thompson I.G. (TIG) has a two chamber furnace that can temper glass up to 72” x 140” and 3.0mm – 25.0mm. with a 78” inline Lisec washer.
At Thompson I.G., our furnace uses the latest convection heat methods to achieve minimal distortion and to meet ASTM Standard Specification C1048. Our tempering line also includes a High Resolution LiteSentry Osprey™ distortion measurement which provides real-time high-resolution monitoring of distortion for glass tempering.
You can order tempered glass from 1/8" up to 1/2" thick. In addition, we provide special edging, polishing and drilled holes.

The interlayer keeps the layers of glass bonded even when broken, and its high strength and adhesion to the glass surface prevents the glass from breaking up into large, sharp pieces.
Thompson I.G. (TIG) produces laminated glass using advanced lamination and autoclave technology. Beyond strength and safety, laminated glass also offers excellent sound absorption and ultraviolet filtration. Up to 99% UV radiation can be blocked to help protect against fading of interior objects such as artwork and furniture fabrics.
By using the combination of tinted glass and vinyl's, TIG is capable of producing laminated glass that offers a wide range of light transmission, energy efficiency and aesthetic possibilities.

About Suntuitive Dynamic Glass
Dynamic glass in a broad sense refers to a window that is able to transition or change its visuals properties or characteristics based on either the introduction of heat or electricity. Thompson I.G. is proud to offer Suntuitive® interlayer for dynamic glass, the leading dynamic glass technology produced by Pleotint, LLC.
Suntuitive interlayer is a thermochromic, self-tinting technology, incorporated into PVB, a standard plastic used in glass lamination. Suntuitive darkens gradually in response to rising temperatures caused by direct sunlight on the window, then cools as the sun moves across the sky, returning to a clear, neutral state in cloudy or dark environmental conditions when direct sun is no longer present. All this is absolutely no mechanical intervention.
Key Features
- Powered by heat from direct sunlight
- Continuously adapts tint level in response to heat from direct sunlight
- Installation is the same as any traditional window system
- Durable and maintenance-free
- Works in round, curved, and operable windows
More Information
As part of a dynamic window system, Suntuitive interlayer can help manage a building’s changing needs for passive solar gain, solar control and natural daylight transmittance. Ultimately, that can lower costs associated with air conditioning, artificial lighting and heating, which together can represent up to 70 percent of a building’s total energy consumption.
In addition, because of its laminated glass design, windows made with Suntuitive interlayer reduce outside noise and enhance building security. Building tenants also enjoy more consistently comfortable temperatures, reduced interior glare, more natural lighting and clear views of the outdoors every day of the year.

Traditionally, glass as a design element has had limited creative value; but thanks to an ingenious use of technology, digital printing is now possible and its popularity as a versatile and aesthetic material is on the rise.
One of our newest and most popular capabilities!
TIG is able to support this specialty glass printing market with our digital printing equipment and knowledgeable staff. This process requires a digital file that is either supplied by the customer or created by TIG using sophisticated image editing software. The image is then loaded into the large digital printer where it is printed on to the glass using various colors of ceramic ink. The ceramic ink is of the best quality, making it weatherproof, as well as scratch and UV resistant.
The ink is then cured thermally in the tempering oven. After curing, the ink bonds to the glass surface and becomes very hard and almost impossible to remove. Brilliant in color, the result is an attractive, high-resolution and durable product. Digital printing can be applied to glass to create various graphics on glass for almost unlimited applications.
