Today’s announcement touches all three of the company’s product lines.

Walker Glass is pleased to announce the expansion of its AviProtek® bird safe glass program. Launched in 2013, the AviProtek® product offering has evolved and expanded significantly due to market demand. Today’s announcement touches all three of the company’s product lines.

The demand for bird friendly glazing continues to grow significantly throughout North America as cities enact local building design legislation aimed at reducing bird collisions.

Walker’s expanded bird friendly program allows glass fabricators to order exact quantities of the AviProtek® and AviProtek® E products, reducing procurement costs. For improved yield, sizes of 72’’ x 130’’ or 84’’ x 130’’ can be requested in addition to the standard 96’’ X 130’’ size. Directional patterns along the short or long side of the stock sheet are also now available as part of the company’s standard offering.

The popular AviProtek® E (2019 Green Product of the Year) has expanded its Vitro coatings availability to include Solarban® 67 and 72 as well as the current Solarban® 60 and 70 coatings. The option of tinted substrates such as Solarbronze, Solargrey and more are also now part of this revamped program.

Walker’s AviProtek® T bird friendly transparent line made with Pilkington pyrolithic glass is now available in various thicknesses as well as in low-iron Optiwhite glass.

“AviProtek® is an important part of Walker’s offering and a segment that we take a great deal of pride in as market leader. We work hard to stay abreast of changing market needs at all levels of the supply chain, including architects, fabricators and glaziers, and developers to ensure that they are all well served. I believe that these program improvements will assist our customers achieve a higher rate of adoption of AviProtek solutions in the marketplace. Walker’s continued effort in this product segment – including the release of a dedicated EPD for our bird safe glass products, speaks to our continued commitment to the environment.” said Charles Alexander Vice-President of Sales and Marketing.
