Major Milestone for Düzce Cam: Stone-Laying Ceremony for New 800 tpd Float Glass Plant

Düzce Cam and HORN Glass Industries have marked a major milestone with the stone-laying ceremony for a new 800 tpd float glass plant in Bilecik, Türkiye.

With more than 30 years of experience, Düzce Cam Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., based in Düzce, Türkiye, is one of the established manufacturers in the Turkish float glass industry. The company combines long-standing expertise with modern production technology, high quality standards and reliable glass manufacturing.

At the end of 2022, HORN Glass Industries AG was commissioned by Düzce Cam to supply essential plant components for the hot end of a new float glass plant with a production capacity of 800 tons per day to be established in Bilecik, Türkiye. The scope of supply includes the glass melting furnace, the tin bath, the annealing lehr, a hot end automation system and the protective gas station.

Manufacturing of the individual components at HORN’s site in Plössberg, Germany has been largely completed. Construction work on site began on 20 April 2026. This week, an important first milestone of the large-scale project was celebrated: during a ceremonial stone-laying ceremony on 15 June 2026, the first stones of the new glass melting furnace were laid.

The commissioning of the new float glass plant is scheduled for April 2027.
