Bovone North America hires General Manager

Bovone, a global leader in the production of glass and stone processing plants, has chosen its American managing director.

Bovone and Salem Distributing Company, Inc. (Salem) are pleased to announce that Doug Mangus, longtime Machinery Sales Director with Salem, has been selected to head up the soon to open Bovone North America (Bovone NA). Mangus was selected as General Manager based on the important experience gained over numerous years of working side by side with Bovone's Italian headquarters.

  

Thanks to his deep knowledge of the Bovone company, its history, its values, and its processes, combined with experience as machine sales director for Salem, distributor of Bovone machinery in the North American market, Mangus will take up the challenge of achieving the many important goals in a strategic market like North America. “As one of our own, Doug is the obvious choice for this position as General Manager for Bovone NA. He has assessed operations, consulted on and sold machinery and is the pivotal contact for Salem’s customers”, says Mike Willard, CEO/Owner of Salem. 

Bovone is known for its quality glass and stone fabrication machinery and robotics, and has been selling machinery in the North American market, through Salem, for 45 years. In fact, Bovone chose to have its American headquarters located close to Salem’s headquarters to guarantee a widespread presence, more timely assistance, and quick and personalized answers to American and Canadian customers who have proven to prefer the excellence of Bovone's “Made in Italy” solutions. “We are excited about this new venture,” says Federica Bovone, CEO of Elettromeccanica Bovone Srl, “and the time has come that we expand into this market with a physical location and staff so we can continue to effectively and efficiently meet the demands of our loyal customer base.” 

Bovone N.A. is strategically located in North Carolina, one of the states most suited to the development of new industrial projects. It intends to be fully operational starting in 2020 with a complete management and operational team. This move is intended to make it easier and faster to integrate data for robotics, prepare and install machinery, and service our customers in the entire North American market. “With Mangus in his new position, and through this collaboration, Salem and Bovone will continue to provide excellent customer service to existing customers along with actively developing new prospects”, agrees Willard and Bovone.
