Sustainable building and innovative building skins in focus

On 24 October the architecture forum will be held as part of glasstec 2024, the world-leading trade fair for the glass industry. New this year: the forum will form part of the glasstec conference and be held on Stage 3, one of the three conference stages. Under the heading “Sustainable Building: Innovations for Building Skins and Use of Building Stock” renowned architects’ offices will discuss the latest developments in the field of sustainable architecture and present how they can be implemented by means of concrete examples.

Focus on sustainability and efficiency in construction

The Forum places the efficiency and sustainability of new buildings and existing buildings centre stage. Discussions will focus on how the use of existing buildings can be changed, materials be reused and how old buildings can be made energy-efficient at an affordable cost. The integration of glass as an indispensable but energy-intensive material into modern building skins will be addressed. Other focal themes include circular-ready materials, climate-saving construction methods and new digital technologies.

Signature projects by renowned international architects’ offices

BALANCE ARCHITETTURA, Elephant, Olaf Gipser Architects B.V., Zeller Kölmel Architekten GmbH, H2O Architectes, Orange Architects and ADEPT will be introducing their current projects at the Forum – demonstrating how the frequently contradictory requirements made on sustainability and architecture give rise to innovative solutions.

High-calibre lectures and discussions

The Forum will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Jutta Albus of the Applied Science Department of Architecture EKNB of Bochum University. The event provides an exclusive platform for exchanging on forward-looking solutions and concepts with the leading minds in architecture.
