Date: 5 October 2026
The event once again brought together the international glass industry, with Viprotron presenting its solutions for automated quality control in glass processing.
Four intensive days at the trade fair provided opportunities for personal conversations, new contacts and international exchange. Viprotron welcomed visitors from around the world to discuss current challenges, quality requirements and future developments in the glass industry.
The Temper Scanner 5D in the Spotlight
A key highlight at the Viprotron booth was the Temper Scanner 5D, a system designed for comprehensive quality inspection of thermally tempered glass directly at the furnace exit.
Depending on its configuration, the Temper Scanner detects and evaluates:
- Glass deformation and optical distortion, including hammer, saddle and pocket distortions
- Anisotropy
- White haze and local haze
- High-contrast surface defects
- Coating defects
Precision and repeatability of measurement results were important topics during discussions with visitors. In industrial glass production, consistent and reliable quality assessment over time is essential.
The Temper Scanner 5D provides a basis for comparable measurement results, early identification of deviations and more effective evaluation and optimization of production processes. For glass processors, this supports greater transparency, improved process control and consistently high product quality.

Bow Sensor: Greater Transparency Directly in the Process
The Bow Sensor was another important part of Viprotron’s presentation at glasstec 2024.
The system measures the bow of a glass pane without contact and directly during the ongoing production process. This provides additional transparency within the process without unnecessarily interrupting production.
For glass processors, this allows changes and deviations to be detected at an early stage, before they can negatively affect subsequent process steps or the quality of the finished product.
The Bow Sensor adds another important measurement parameter to automated quality control, helping companies better understand their processes and maintain stable production over the long term.
Continuous process monitoring is becoming increasingly important in highly automated production environments. Rather than focusing solely on whether a product is ultimately “good” or “bad,” manufacturers can also identify developments during production and respond accordingly.

Valuable Insights from the Industry
For Viprotron, glasstec is more than a platform for presenting technologies. Direct exchange with customers, partners and industry experts provides valuable insights into the needs and challenges of the glass industry.
The discussions at glasstec 2024 highlighted several key topics, including reliable and repeatable measurement results, transparent quality data, comprehensive automated inspection and the intelligent use of data to optimize production processes.
This exchange provides Viprotron with important insights for the further development of its systems, while also offering a clearer understanding of what customers expect from modern quality control today and in the future.
Viprotron thanks all visitors who took the time to meet with the team at glasstec 2024. The many encounters, new contacts and project opportunities made the event a valuable experience for the company.
With the next edition of glasstec approaching, Viprotron is now looking ahead to Düsseldorf once again, where it will have the opportunity to reconnect with industry professionals and present its latest developments.
