Industry experts gathered at CBD Fair Guangzhou to discuss the future of quality assurance in insulating glass production.

At the 9th Brand Doors & Windows Exchange Conference, held during CBD Fair Guangzhou, Jolene Hu, Chief Representative of Sparklike China, presented the growing importance of verifying insulating gas concentration as part of modern insulating glass quality control.

During the presentation, Hu emphasized that energy-efficient insulating glass should be verified through measurement rather than relying solely on design specifications. She also highlighted the importance of maintaining argon gas fill levels above 85% in line with Chinese and international industry requirements.

The presentation demonstrated how non-destructive gas measurement enables manufacturers to document the actual gas concentration of each insulating glass unit, creating a digital quality record without damaging the IGU.

As the insulating glass industry continues to prioritize product quality, energy efficiency, digital quality control and performance verification, reliable gas measurement is becoming an increasingly important tool for ensuring insulating glass units deliver their intended thermal performance.

An important development for the Chinese market is the publication of the updated GB/T 11944-2025 standard, which introduces Appendix H, recognizing Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS) as a non-destructive method for measuring inert gas concentration in insulating glass units.
