Get the Bird-Friendly Technical Design Guide and the Frameless Shower Enclosures Design Guide available for Download in the NGA Store.

NGA has published two new design guides, the Bird-friendly Technical Design Guide and the Frameless Shower Enclosures Design Guide, now available for download in the NGA Store. The guides are the first publications available in NGA's new technical resource category.

BEST PRACTICES FOR BIRD-FRIENDLY GLAZING DESIGN GUIDE

This is a complementary resource to the existing Glass Technical Paper (GTP), Bird-Friendly Glass Design Strategies. While the GTP provides a general introduction to bird-friendly glazing, the design guide offers 15 pages of content including the evolution of bird-friendly legislation, recommended glazing practices, glass product solutions and other integrated protection measures.

FRAMELESS SHOWER ENCLOSURES DESIGN GUIDE

The guide discusses design considerations for frameless shower enclosures including doors and fixed panels, dimensional and weight tolerances and limitations, hardware and structural support, visual quality expectations, and cleaning and maintenance guidelines. It also addresses specialty glass considerations when using patterned or coated glass.

The guides were developed by task groups comprised of NGA member volunteers and are intended to fill a targeted need for more in-depth guidance and recommendations related to design and installation best practices for the glazing and glass products industry.

AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD IN THE NGA STORE

The Best Practices for Bird-Friendly Design Guide and the Frameless Shower Enclosures Design Guide are now available for purchase among a host of additional resources in the NGA Store.
