HORN Glass Industries has successfully completed the modernization and automation of the tin bath at Guardian Glass Corsicana, enhancing production efficiency with advanced technology and automation.

Guardian Glass is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of float glass and coated architectural glass. The company looks back on a long tradition in glass production and stands for innovative technologies, high quality standards and customer-specific glass solutions for construction, architecture and industry.

From January 2026 to May 2026, HORN Glass Industries carried out the modernisation and automation of the tin bath at Guardian Glass Corsicana. An important milestone of the project was the successful ribbon pull on 29 April 2026.

As part of the modernisation, HORN supplied extensive equipment to optimise tin bath operation. This included, among other things, 14 top rollers including camera systems, a pusher, a tweel upgrade, an exit cooler upgrade and a dross box hood.

In addition, the complete control system for the supplied equipment (SCADA) will be delivered and integrated into the existing system.
Furthermore, HORN was responsible for the refractory repair and replacement work in the tin bath area. This included bottom blocking as well as work on the tin bath roof, including refractory material and heating elements.

With the successful implementation of the project, HORN made an important contribution to the modernisation of the plant and to the further automation of the production process at Guardian Glass Corsicana. We would like to thank everyone involved for the smooth and excellent cooperation and wish Guardian Glass continued good glass production.
