Discover Forel’s new High Speed Thermoplastic IG Line, unveiled at glasstec 2026, and see how automation and integrated processing deliver up to 30% higher productivity in insulating glass manufacturing.

Speed, continuous production and consistent quality: these are among the key requirements of modern insulating glass manufacturing, particularly in the residential sector and large-scale projects. Increasing productivity, however, is not simply about reducing cycle times. It means optimizing every stage of the process, from spacer application to final sealing.

To meet these demands, Forel has developed the new High Speed Thermoplastic IG Line, unveiled at Glasstec 2026 in Düsseldorf. This fully automated solution is designed to integrate thermoplastic spacer technology into a continuous, high-output production workflow.

High Productivity: 30% Faster Processing

The new High Speed Thermoplastic IG Line is engineered to deliver a 30% increase in processing speed compared to traditional configurations, bringing thermoplastic technology to new levels of productivity.

This improvement is achieved through the integration and coordination of the line’s different processing stages, with the goal of reducing cycle times while maintaining precision, stability and repeatability, even in high-volume production environments.

From Spacer Application to Pressing: A Continuous Workflow

One of the key features of the new line is the integration of thermoplastic spacer application into a fully automated and optimized production process.

The subsequent assembly stage is handled by a double tandem press with gas filling, designed to support high production rates without compromising assembly precision or process stability.

This configuration allows the different operations to work in coordination, ensuring a continuous production flow even under the most demanding operating conditions.

Robotic Sealing for Greater Efficiency

The final stage of production has also been engineered to meet the demands of high-volume manufacturing.

The line features a robotic system for applying two-component sealant, equipped with a dual transport carriage and two material dosing units.

This configuration helps optimize sealing operations while maintaining uniformity and reliability, contributing to the overall performance of the line.

Forel Innovation Driving High Productivity

The new High Speed Thermoplastic IG Line marks another step forward in Forel’s insulating glass portfolio, combining the flexibility of thermoplastic technology with the performance requirements of high-volume industrial production.

How are the different processing stages integrated? Which technical solutions make it possible to achieve higher speeds while maintaining precise process control?
