Glass for Europe joined the CLEPA delegation at the 77th session of the UN Working Party on Passive Safety (GRSP) in Geneva to contribute to discussions on headform testing on vehicles under UN Regulation 127.

The association aimed to provide technical insights into the specific material characteristics of automotive glass to help policymakers develop effective and practical safety requirements.

Enhancing pedestrian protection worldwide requires regulatory frameworks that reflect the properties of various vehicle components, including glass. To ensure that manufacturers can reliably meet these requirements, it is essential to understand the statistical nature of glass strength and behaviour.

For this reason, informing discussions on windscreen breakage behaviour, safety glazing standards, and glass regulation is critical to shaping future rules that are both effective and achievable.

Glass for Europe remains available to contracting parties and all stakeholders interested in flat glass and its applications. For further information, please contact Justin Loup, Technical Regulations and Product Policy Manager.
