Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger III will address attendees at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas on November 5, 2009, during the Fifth Annual International Auto Glass Safety Conference sponsored by the AGRSS Council Inc.

He will alsohold a private breakfast with members of AGRSS-registered companies prior to the speech. His knowledge of safety allowed him to successfully land his plane on the water and save all 155 passengers.“Hearing from Captain Sullenberger, a man whose persistence in the field of safety was proven back on January 15, is an ideal fit for the AGRSS-registered companies and those in the auto glass industry who hold safety first as their top priority,” said Debra Levy, president of the AGRSS Council Inc. “We hope our attendees are able to come away with a greater understanding of what a difference their diligence in safety can make as it did in Captain Sullenberger’s case,” added Levy.

“We are also thankful to our sponsors, AGRR Magazine, Glass America, Mygrant Glass, PGW ARG and PGW LYNX Services in co-operation with NACE and DuPont Performance Coatings, for making Captain Sullenberger’s appearance possible,” said Levy.

In addition to being a pilot, Captain Sullenberger is the founder and chief executive officer of Safety Reliability Methods Inc. (SRM). SRM is a company who aims to achieve the highest levels of safety, performance and reliability to organizations based on the most effective methods available.

Sullenberger has also provided suggestions to improve operational safety with company gate charts; increase situational awareness on taxiways; and helped to lead all aviation groups to adopt a safer, more uniformed standard for departure procedures.
