Former Group Manager Matt Buchanan assumes new role.

In response to their exponential growth, Aurora, Ohio software company FeneTech, Inc. has recently named Matt Buchanan to the newly created position of Director of Software Development. Additionally, according to FeneTech President & CEO Ron Crowl, the company has created a series of technical leads over which Buchanan will be responsible.

A graduate of The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering, Buchanan joined FeneTech in 2003 as a software engineer. He became a Group Manager in 2011, helping turn customer business requirements into software deliverables.

He’s responsible for leading the development of FeneVision’s CRM and RMA modules while implementing a variety of software performance initiatives and tooling that helped make upgrades to the software more efficient. Buchanan reflects on his time at FeneTech. “I truly feel I am here to serve the entire software team at FeneTech, not the other way around.”

As a further reflection of the company’s growth, FeneTech has restructured its US office, creating a series of technical leads—subject matter experts for specific products. These technical leads encompass FeneTech’s commercial, business, production, and quality development areas and are headed by Software Development Team members Vince Formica, Brian Klinect, Joel Tornberg, and Nick Orlando respectively. All are FeneTech veterans, having provided unparalleled talent to the fenestration ERP software provider for several years.

In his new role, Buchanan, who will report directly to Vice President of Engineering Craig Morris, will be responsible for meeting with the newly-created technical leads to establish development priorities, meeting with project stakeholders to determine development requirements, planning development schedules and releases, and assigning resources.

Crowl explained the company’s move. “FeneTech invests on average 30,000 hours a year in software development. We continue to grow, and our products become more multi-faceted to meet our customers’ needs and the demands of the industry. I’m confident that Matt’s overall leadership qualities and his talent for inspiring others will allow us to continue developing new products and features and providing outstanding support.”

FeneTech, Inc. is home to FeneVision ERP, leading software provider for the fenestration industry since 1996. Learn more about FeneTech at FeneTech.com.
