Glaston FC500 with first iLooK in the UK.

“When I came to Village Glass in May 2015, I was excited about the opportunity to grow the business to become the largest independent producer of glazed units in the UK. Data is key to develop any business. That’s why we decided to invest in Glaston’s FC500 with the iLooK online glass quality measuring system,” says Steve Larvin, Managing Director of Village Glass in Essex, UK. “We’ll be the first company in the UK to have iLooK.”

When Steve Larvin came into the family owned Village Glass company, he had a strong vision for raising output levels and reaching new standards in glass quality. He saw an opportunity to be able to better serve the growing commercial market in London, such as hospitals and schools, as well as to be able to offer the massive glass screens to the high-end, multimillion pound British homes.

Glaston’s FC500 will actually run more glass than both of the company’s two older furnaces combined. This will give Village Glass greater output and also the capability to run much larger glass sizes of up to 6,000 x 3,300 mm to better serve the requirements of London’s booming commercial market.
