At Plug and Play in Saxon, Switzerland, creativity and precision go hand in hand—discover how CMS technology helps transform artistic ideas into unique glass creations every day.

Saxon, Switzerland, is home to Plug and Play, an independent company specializing in glass fabrication. Here we met the company founders, Emanuelle Zufferey, CEO, and Diego Micheloud, CTO, who helped us understand how CMS technology supports their creativity every day.

The company operates with two identities: Plug and Play, the conventional glasswork, and Narcis, a design workshop and artistic glasswork.

With a team of six people, the company performs each production stage in-house to create custom projects ranging from more traditional elements such as mirrors, walls and shower cubicles to artistic and design creations such as lamps, furniture and decorative surfaces.

Plug and Play's work is based on a collaborative approach with customers:

"They often come to us with an idea, and we make proposals to find a way of creating something unique. It's really a joint effort," says Emanuelle.

The collaboration with CMS started about fifteen years ago when the first machining center was purchased to ensure reliability and operational continuity. When it was time to renew the fleet, the obvious choice was CMS again:

"Our old machine worked extremely well. When it was time to change it, it seemed logical to choose CMS again," explains Diego.

The solution identified was electa, a four-axis machining center ideal for the company's production needs. Compact and high-performance, it can handle traditional three- and four-axis machining, as well as advanced applications such as chamfering, engraving and polishing, with the flexibility to adapt to both standard and special projects.

One of the most appreciated aspects is the perfect balance between small size and large work area, which optimizes workshop space without compromising performance.

The ease of use of electa and its high level of integration with the CMS support service have significantly reduced the time spent dealing with technical issues. The IoT Solution system also helps monitor the machine in real time, manage opening on-line tickets, and efficiently plan maintenance activities.

"We spend a lot less time troubleshooting than before. CMS support is essential, and allows us to focus on our work," confirms Diego.

Our relationship with CMS has therefore strengthened and become a partnership based on trust and continuity, in which after-sales service is a key element.
