The two largest companies in the automotive glass repair and replacement industry announced today they will merge operations in the United States, subject to regulatory approval and other customary closing conditions.
Belron S.A. (BELRON), the world's largest vehicle glass repair and replacement company operating in 29 countries, will acquire Safelite Group Inc., the U.S. market leader in replacement and repair services and the only integrated provider of automotive glass insurance claims management, retail fulfillment, automotive glass manufacturing and wholesale distribution.
The transaction is expected to close in March and the integration of BELRON Inc., the U.S. operation of BELRON, and Safelite operations will begin at that time. Upon closing, the newly combined organization will be Belron US(TM).
