Glaston on Glasstec & Solarpeq 2010

Date: 13 October 2010

Glasstec, the world largest trade fair for the glass industry was held last week in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Glaston’s booth was one of the busiest throughout the show.

The new Glaston Heat treatment products FC500™ and RC200™ tempering furnaces and the iControL™ automation system and the iLooK™ online quality measuring system with live demonstrations roused a lot of interest. Beneq and Glaston introduced the new TFC2000™ TCO coating line for the Solar segment and the joint launch reached the audience well.

In Glaston's Pre-processing machines the visitors were particularly interested in grinding technologies, VX Power edge and the V series grinders. The clients showed also interest in the joint concept, Golden Stock and Silver Stock for extended warranties and supplies of tools and replacement parts.

The main theme for Software Solutions at Glasstec 2010 was “automation in the glass production”. Software Solutions organized visits at their customers during the exhibition in order to show their systems in live production.

From the wide range of Glaston Services upgrades, customers were particularly looking for upgrades related to quality (iLooK™, QMS with scanner), low-E capability and capacity increase. Our partner product ForzaG water treatment systems attracted especially our environmentally conscious customers.

“All in all Glasstec 2010 exceeded our expectations in every aspect. Our new innovations are exactly what the customers are looking for: energy efficient but with high productivity and at the same time increasing the overall quality of operation", concludes Arto Metsänen, President & CEO, Glaston Corporation.
