Cao Dewang, founder and chairman of Fuyao Glass Industry Group, China’s largest automobile glass manufacturer, said on March 24 that the company had invested $200m in the US to build the world’s largest plant which will be put into operation next year with annual auto glass reaching 4 million sets. The project, as Fujian’s largest investment project in the US, has been approved by the Ministry of Commerce.
Fuyao opened its first overseas plant in September 2013 in Kaluga, Russia, with an annual production of automotive safety glass reaching 1 million sets in the first phase and 2 million sets in the second phase.
