CEU Webinar on “Efficient Design Utilizing Decorative Guardrails” Slated for July 29 at 11 a.m. EST

When it comes to railing systems, there is no need to compromise a beautiful aesthetic for function and safety – you can achieve both. Join Trex Commercial Products on Wednesday, July 29 at 11 a.m. ET as we team up with Hanley Wood University to present a virtual CEU course entitled “Efficient Design Utilizing Decorative Guardrails.”

Presented by Trex Commercial Products National Sales Manager Shelly Farmer, the webinar will examine guardrails in terms of structure, safety and style. Attendees will learn all about specifying for guardrails, including loading requirements, safety factors, IBC code criteria, materials, finishes and more.

At the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Explain how loading requirements, member selection and deflection affect guardrail system design and performance
  • Recall 2018 IBC code criteria related to handrails and guards and apply them to the design of a safe guardrail system
  • Discuss the advantages and considerations of three types of glass guardrail support systems (base shoe supported, post supported and point supported)
  • Specify guardrail materials, finishes and infills that are appropriate for the project environment, design goals aesthetic and budget

This is a great opportunity for architects and specifiers to learn something new or brush up on their knowledge and receive AIA continuing education credits!
