Date: 28 October 2026
The second annual Glazier Expo brought Ontario’s glazing community together on October 14 at the Finishing Trades Institute of Ontario (FTI Ontario) Toronto Glazier Training Centre for a day of industry insights, product demonstrations and valuable connections.
Hosted by FTI Ontario in partnership with the Architectural Glass & Metal Contractors Association (AGMCA) and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT), the event continued its focus on Innovation. Education. Certification. This year’s Expo welcomed more attendees than the inaugural event in 2025, with classrooms packed during presentations, a clear sign of strong interest in the products, solutions and developments shaping the glazing industry.
Industry Insights from Leading Companies
Presentations from Yarl Metal, CS2 Construction Sales and DOW, Flynn, and ASSA ABLOY gave attendees opportunities to learn more about products, technologies and solutions relevant to their work.
From glazing and cladding components to sealants, automatic doors and evolving approaches to building-envelope systems, the sessions encouraged attendees to engage directly with industry representatives, ask questions and explore potential applications for their projects.
A crane demonstration was also available throughout the day, adding a practical, hands-on element to the event.

Learning, Connections and New Opportunities
Beyond the presentations and demonstrations, one of the Expo’s most important outcomes was the opportunity to build relationships across the industry.
Glazing contractors, suppliers, manufacturers and other professionals connected, exchanged contact information and discussed potential projects, job opportunities and future collaborations. These conversations helped strengthen relationships between companies and workers while opening doors to recruitment, business development and new industry partnerships.
A raffle added to the day’s activities, bringing attendees together in a welcoming environment focused on sharing knowledge and celebrating the glazing trade.

Turning Insights into Action
The value of the Expo extends beyond a single day. Attendees can apply what they learned by exploring new products and technologies, discussing potential solutions with their teams, sharing knowledge with colleagues and following up with the suppliers and industry contacts they met.
For contractors, these connections can support future projects and help identify new resources. For manufacturers and suppliers, direct conversations with industry professionals provide opportunities to better understand customer needs and develop lasting business relationships.
Building the Future of the Glazing Industry
The strong turnout at the second annual Glazier Expo reinforces the value of bringing the industry together around education, innovation and collaboration.
By connecting the people who design, supply, fabricate and install glazing systems, the Expo helps strengthen the relationships and knowledge that support the industry’s continued development.
FTI Ontario thanks its partners, presenters, exhibitors and attendees for helping make the 2026 Glazier Expo a success. The organization looks forward to continuing to support skilled-trades training and collaboration across Ontario’s architectural glass and metal industry.
