Switchable Glass | Impact Testing | Safety Glass

Date: 5 December 2013

Our switchable glass can be classified as a Class A safety glass as it is has passed the relevant impact resistance tests.   Privacy Smartglass is manufactured by sandwiching a layer of switchable material between two panels of glass and laminating.

The result is an incredibly strong piece of glass that also switches between opaque and transparent at the flick of a switch. Physically strong and aesthetically beautiful.

It can even take on some pretty heavy duty attacks. Don’t believe me? Have a look at the video below.

With different thicknesses and variations in glass type, we can make our switchable glass even stronger.

Check back here tomorrow where we’ll be showcasing a bullet-proof panel of Smartglass.
