Sphinx Glass to introduce DFI glass coating technology in Egypt and the Mediterranean North African region.

Sphinx Glass, a leading float glass manufacturer headquartered in Cairo, Egypt, jointly announced with DFI today, the signing of an exclusive distribution agreement to introduce Diamon-Fusion® glass coating technology in Egypt and the Mediterranean North African region. Ultra-thin and invisible, Diamon-Fusion® chemically bonds to glass, transforming it into a high-performing, hygienic, and water-repellent surface that protects against stains and corrosion.

Sphinx Glass was established in 2008 and is the only fully independent glass manufacturer in Egypt, with a sales network in over 40 countries, spanning across five (5) continents. They are known for superior quality glass, cutting-edge manufacturing technology, strict quality assurance, and first-rate raw materials, with primary know-how sourced from the best technology suppliers in USA and Europe. Sphinx Glass supplies float glass products to the architectural, decorative, home appliances, solar, and automotive industries and manufactures a large range of glass sizes and thicknesses (from 2mm to 19mm, including jumbo size), a state-of-the-art production facility with an annual capacity of 220,000 tons.

“This new partnership with DFI will allow us to offer the world’s best glass protection with the innovative added-value features and excellent quality of the Diamon-Fusion® coating in Egypt and the North African Mediterranean region. We are thrilled to partner with a technology leader who understands quality and shares our customer-focused vision”, stated Mohamed Khattab, CEO at Sphinx Glass.

“Expanding our global business into Egypt and the Northern African region with such a prestigious and high-quality glass manufacturer adds diversity and great potential future growth. We look forward to a long-lasting and fruitful partnership with Sphinx Glass”, added Guillermo Seta, Vice President of Global Business Development at DFI.

DFI’s patented FuseCube™ glass coating machine applies Diamon-Fusion® through a proprietary chemical vapor deposition process, ensuring double-sided coverage, uniform application, and a higher-quality coating. Built to last, Diamon-Fusion® is also UV-resistant, requires no aftercare products, and comes with a lifetime warranty on residential surfaces and a 15-year warranty on commercial surfaces. Similar to a non-stick cooking pan, surfaces treated with Diamon-Fusion® become easier to clean and require less care to maintain. The invisible barrier created in the Diamon-Fusion® process also eliminates the need for harsh chemical cleaners, promoting a more hygienic environment by reducing mold/bacteria buildup and keeps glass looking cleaner for longer.
