Quality control belongs directly in the production line — where it matters most.

In this video, Markus Stefan, responsible for Softsolution’s home market as well as Northern and Eastern Europe, explains how the LineScanner supports automated glass quality inspection throughout the production process.

The LineScanner can detect a wide range of quality defects, including:

  • Scratches
  • Inclusions
  • Coating defects
  • Fingerprints
  • Dimensional and structural quality characteristics

For insulating glass production, many customers install the LineScanner directly on their IG lines to inspect glass after the washer.

Combined with the BowScanner, the system can also measure the overall bending of the glass before it enters the press. This helps prevent excessively bent glass from causing problems further down the production line.

More customers are also using the LineScanner for final quality inspection after the press, including checks of frame offset, Georgian bar angularity, and the actual build-up of the insulating glass unit.

At the heart of the system is Softsolution’s real scanning technology with sensor-based parallel light. It measures defects and displays them at their actual size.

All scans can then be stored in a centralized archive, providing detailed documentation for each individual piece of glass.
