SHANGHAI, April 5, 2012 – PPG Industries’ (NYSE:PPG) flat glass business is displaying its complete lines of environmentally progressive low-emissivity (low-e) glass, solar control glass and high-performance tinted glasses at China Glass 2012 (booth: 147-150 & 163-166, Hall E2) in the Shanghai New International Expo Center.

Arial">At the show, PPG will feature SOLARBAN(R) 70XL glass, the industry’s first triple-silver-coated, solar control low-e glass. It offers both environmentally-responsible performance and color consistency. To date, PPG has shipped more than 120 million square feet of Solarban 70XL glass, which has been installed on more than 1,000 buildings, including at least 160 that have earned LEED(R) certification through the U.S. Green Building Council.

PPG will also display the rest of its flat glass products that have been launched in the China market. With its leading position in the glass industry, PPG offers Chinese customers advanced technologies such as high performance low-e, solar control glass and an array of tinted glass options.

“PPG is committed to providing customers with innovative products that offer aesthetic color consistency and outstanding performance,” said Jeff Yigdall, PPG global director of engineering and international business for flat glass. “The number of our products that are installed on ‘green’ buildings shows how PPG glass can contribute to energy savings for building owners.”

PPG earned CRADLE TO CRADLE(TM) Certification for all its architectural glass products in 2008, and it remains the only glass manufacturer in the world to have achieved this distinction. The company is one of few glass manufacturers that produce on-line, pyrolytic, low-e coated glass.
