The industry is accelerating the replacement of incandescent lighting systems with new Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology, which offers many advantages including reduced maintenance and utility costs.  However, LED technology comes with many design challenges to ensure safety and reliability as compared to traditional incandescent fixtures.
