G11 ‘GLASS COMPANY OF THE YEAR’ NOMINATION FOR TUFFX

Date: 17 October 2011

Leading specialist glass manufacturer, TuffX Processed Glass has been nominated as a finalist for this year’s G11 awards which will take place at the Park Lane Hilton, London in November.

The entire team considers it high praise to be recognized for providing only the highest standards in terms of both products and services. Whilst the competition maybe fierce within the Glass Company of the Year category, the TuffX team considers the nomination for such a prestigious award further substantiates the corporate philosophy of providing only the best. The nomination comes just days after TuffX was awarded best SME Company in the Knowsley Business Awards.

Producing high performance products that offer exceptional value and benefits such as the Ambience range have firmly established the company as a market leader. The company also produces high quality toughened safety glass products to both the domestic and commercial sectors nationally. TuffX has seen considerable growth over the last few years and is firmly established in the North West as a progressive, customer-oriented business. It is hoped that this will be clearly demonstrated when the judges view the on-site facilities prior to the well-regarded awards presentation evening in November.

Manufacturing from the purpose built factory on the outskirts of Knowsley, Merseyside, the company is well recognised for providing some of the most advanced products on the market today. The new premises have also been valuable to the local community, during 2010/11 the workforce has doubled, which combined with the continued investment helps supplier partners. Additionally the national fleet of vehicles which includes 7.5 & 13 tonne wagons has more than doubled to a modern fleet of 14. Investment in a secondary distribution ‘hub’ in Milton Keynes not only helps customers but again creates further employment opportunities.

The company has taken market changes to hand, by restructuring according to current and future industry requirements to ensure premium services and products are provided as standard. Amidst the very challenging economic climate over recent years Tuffx has maintained a firm commitment to development and innovation. Consequently, the aforementioned growth in infra-structure has seen a dramatic increase in both top line sales performance for Tuffx.

Indeed the underlying operating profit, once again allows the management team to reinvest in product, marketing and process development Clearly, TuffX stands as a respected industry manufacturer of high quality, high performance roof glass and toughened glass products which is reflected by the G11 Finalist Nomination. Steve Halford, Sales Director comments, “Clearly the high standards associated with the entire range have been recognised and are reflected through this nomination.

The entire team is driven and offers the skills, knowledge, ability and commitment that our customers and the marketplace need to keep moving forward in times of change. Our aim is to provide the best products, manufactured to the highest quality standards and delivered with service, each time - every time - and on time.” He concludes, “We are all looking forward to the G11 awards at the Park Lane Hilton, London in November, with interest and thank the selection panel for this prestigious nomination.”
