Şişecam has successfully commissioned the new coated glass line at its San Giorgio di Nogaro plant in Northern Italy, an investment realized with 25 million Euro.

A global player in the glass and chemicals industries, Şişecam commissioned the new coated glass line in Northern Italy to meet the rising demand for coated glass in the flat glass sector. With this new line, brought to life with a 25 million Euro investment, Şişecam will increase its coated glass capacity in Italy from 6 million square meters to 12.5 million square meters. This step will bolster Şişecam’s position in the European glass industry and enable the company to meet the growing demand for high-quality and advanced glass products.

Şişecam CEO Can Yücel stated: “The coated glass line we have commissioned at our San Giorgio di Nogaro plant will enhance our production capacity and enrich our product portfolio. This will allow us to better respond to the growing demand for high-quality glass in Europe and deliver our value‑added products to customers in Western Europe. By increasing our coated architectural glass capacities in both Eastern and Western Europe, we will boost our service quality and the range of high-value products we offer in the European market.”

Highlighting the rapidly increasing global demand for coated glass products particularly due to their energy‑saving benefits. Yücel added: “We are entering a phase where our investments to deliver higher-quality and more advanced products to our customers are starting to pay off. Glass is a distinctive material that continues to evolve, shaped by both art and engineering. With 90 years of experience, a passion for innovation, and a dedication to quality, Şişecam delivers products that elevate glass beyond a commodity. We are dedicated to ensuring that glass, with its transparency and harmony, continues to evolve through technology to improve our customers’ live. Through our investment in Italy, we aim to fulfill the expectations of customers who recognize glass as a material that enhances life. This new investment will strengthen Şişecam’s differentiation and competitiveness in architectural glass and marks an important step in delivering greater value to our investors and customers.”
