Cold-bending during lamination is one of sedak's core capabilities. The glass package is bent along a defined bend axis.

After the autoclaving process, the laminate keeps its geometric curvature without requiring any sub-construction.

The special advantages of cold-bending laminated safety glass are particularly the visual quality because of slight distortions and reflections: The view through the glass is flawless thanks to this bending technique.

When bending spherically, the glass is not only bent along one bend axis but along two as we did for a round triple IGU (diameter: 2.8m) of a client from Czech Republic. The triple laminate forming the outer side of the IGU was bent along two axes each with a radius of 12,000mm. The middle layer is a not-bent monolithic glass pane, and the inner side an also not-bent double laminate with a blue, ceramic-ink digital print.

The about one ton heavy glass unit completes a dome. The spherical bending on the outer side is part of the architect's design and offers the advantage that rain and melt water can flow off.
