Date: 11 October 2012

In some areas, there are a number of areas, promising to identify scarce mineral raw materials, said the regional government.

October 9 at a meeting on the development of mineral resources of the Rostov region participants paid attention to the identification of deposits of silica sand for the glass industry. The most promising resources of quartz sand, suitable for use as a feedstock for the production of finished float glass, have been identified in Kasharskom, Miller and Vernhedonskom, Chortkiv and Tarasovsky districts.

For the first stage of work on the localization of sites for further identification of the technological properties of raw materials required 28 million rubles, but, according to geologists, these costs are met in the near future.

"Raw materials are in the field and can be claimed by existing businesses. I think that for this interesting offer investors", - concluded the meeting of Vice-Governor Sergey Gorban.

He also noted the high importance for the region of similar projects and commissioned in a week's time to prepare the information with the exact coordinates of the location of mineral deposits.
