Pella Corporation announced its involvement installing 440 new energy efficient windows and doors in multiple residential and commercial projects across Wilson, Arkansas as the town prepares for growth and tourism.

Wilson, a small farming town home to approximately 900 people, and located an hour from Memphis, is on a mission to revitalize and rebuild the once booming agricultural hub, which fell on hard times post Depression era. Over the past eight years, the town has looked back to its roots with a renewed focus on sustainable, cultural, social and educational projects that will draw tourists and new residents alike.

Over the past four years in Wilson, Pella has helped install ENERGY STAR® windows and doors from its Architect Series® line in three newly constructed single family homes, classrooms at the Delta School, a K-12 Montessori school, and the Hampson Archeological Museum, which expanded and re-opened on November 15.

The museum contains nationally renowned collections from the Nodena culture, a civilization of art, religion, political structure and trading networks developed in the area from A.D. 1400 to 1650.

“By reinvesting in our community and creating structures with trusted products like Pella’s windows and doors, our hope is to create a bold, new town model for sustainability and energy renewal that will be a draw for more visitors to Wilson and year-round residents,” said John Faulkner, head of the Delta School.

“Since 2014 when the Delta School opened, there is renewed energy around the importance of education in our community, and enrollment has increased annually. We attribute much of that to the new building in addition to our incredible staff – people see it and say ‘we want our kids to attend school there- what a tremendous environment.’ The children love coming into this fresh, thoughtful space to learn everyday.”

Faulkner points to Pella’s beautiful designs, energy efficiency and longevity as the main reasons for choosing the windows for the town’s structures.

“We help install new windows and doors every day around the country, and the story of the town of Wilson really spoke to us – watching this community and its leadership rebuild, and being so thoughtful about the process has been inspiring,” said Nicolle Picray, Brand Communications and Public Relations Manager, Pella Corporation.

“We feel lucky to have partnered with Wilson, its economic development team and local residents on the rejuvenation efforts there, and hope to continue working with them as an energy efficient window and door partner for future projects.”
