Green for Generations – a premiere for a sustainable trade fair concept

The Swiss glass specialist Glas Trösch has been one of the pioneers of sustainable corporate management for years. Now the traditional family business is going one step further. Under the motto “Green for Generations”, the Group is launching an initiative to focus even more on environmental and climate protection. The first, impressive proof of this is the trade fair stand at SWISSBAU 2022 in Basel.

There, the glass manufacturer will showcase itself with a unique concept based on the Cradle to Cradle (C2C) design philosophy: nothing is irreversibly glued; all components are simply slotted or screwed into place. And wherever possible, C2C Certified and healthy materials are used. In addition, almost all the components used at the stand are reused. Consistent waste avoidance, the use of green electricity and the use of regional products and service providers also contribute to keeping the carbon footprint at the trade fair lower than ever before.

In order to meet these high demands, all the structural parts of the stand are made of solid, untreated wood, either simply slotted or screwed together. The stand is therefore easy to dismantle and reuse at other trade fairs. Real trees ensure a natural environment in the truest sense of the word, which will be returned to a local nursery in Basel after the fair. Intelligent solutions are also being used in logistics.

The exhibits on display at the trade fair were chosen so that they could be secured to pallets with straps, thus largely eliminating the need for plastic packaging. The standard double storage on site and avoidable truck journeys are also dispensed with. The exhibits and the furnishings come from plants in the immediate vicinity. Last but not least, sustainability is also taken into account when it comes to catering: mainly regional products are offered.

We cordially invite you to visit us at SWISSBAU and explore our new trade fair concept live on site.
