Swiss Engineered Fire Resistant Glass comes to the UK

Date: 16 December 2011
Swiss specialist glass manufacturers Glas Trösch have announced the launch of a range of premium fire resistant glasses for the UK.

Fireswiss Cool is the first product to be introduced to the market, a glass that offers both integrity and partial insulation against radiating heat.

Swiss Engineering

With a history of innovation and specialist glass development Glas Trösch products do not disappoint.  Fireswiss Cool lived up to the expectations of a high performance fire glass by achieving 49 minutes integrity in a fire test undertaken at Exova Warrington, easily exceeding the more common performance level of 30 minutes integrity. Fireswiss Cool also offers additional protection due to insulating qualities, helping prevent the increase of room temperatures and enabling access to exits in the event of fire.  Whatever the project size and nature, Fireswiss Cool can be specified with confidence.

Flawless Quality

Glas Trösch Fireswiss Cool is an exceptional quality fire resistant glass, just what you’d expect from Swiss design and engineering. Fireswiss Cool is Certifire rated for use in timber fire doors and screens and fulfils the strict requirements of all relevant UK and European test standards, with CE certification for all product variations.   Large glass sizes have been tested in established timber frame systems, customized fire testing is also available at the Glas Trösch accredited in-house test laboratory.

Unrivalled Clarity

The outstanding optical quality of Glas Trösch Fireswiss Cool delivers a crystal clear outlook without distortion or discoloration in addition to enhanced fire protection. Fireswiss Cool has enviably clear optical qualities and added safety benefits, achieving 3(B)3 impact resistance in 7mm, 2(B)2 in 9mm and 1(B)1 in 11mm thicknesses.  It is the ideal product for fire doors and internal partitioning, combining functionality with outstanding visual appearance.

Fireswiss Cool is available through CT Glass, UK distribution partners for Glas Trösch.  Cut sizes can be made to order and stock sheets (2125 x 3100mm) are available with short delivery lead times. UV protection is also achievable with optional PVB interlayers for external applications and patterned and coloured glass options are available for bespoke projects.

Glas Trösch are European leaders in the manufacture and design of architectural glasses for the construction industry.  Fireswiss Cool is the first of the planned product introductions into the UK market, with ongoing research and development expected to result in further product variations and enhancements over the coming 12 months.
