Maltha Portugal, part of Renewi’s glass recycling operations, has earned the PME Excelência Award, one of Portugal’s highest business distinctions.

Presented by IAPMEI, the Portuguese Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation, in the presence of the Portuguese Prime Minister, this accolade recognises Maltha Portugal as one of the country’s top-performing companies.

A mark of excellence in business performance

The PME Excelência title is a mark of trust and excellence in the Portuguese business landscape. It highlights companies that demonstrate outstanding financial stability, efficient and responsible management, strong risk control, and sustainable growth. This recognition enhances credibility with banks, customers, suppliers, and public authorities, often opening doors to new financing and international opportunities.

Celebrating teamwork and strategic vision

For Maltha Portugal, this achievement reflects years of dedication and strategic focus, following its PME Líder status last year—a prerequisite for competing for PME Excelência.

“This award is a testament to our team’s passion and commitment,” said Catia Martins, Area Manager Iberia. “It reflects our drive to innovate and lead in sustainable glass recycling, setting new standards for excellence”, expressed Catia Martins, Area Manager for Iberia at Maltha Portugal.

“Recognition at this level reinforces our ambition to grow responsibly and continue shaping a circular future,” added Kevin Bell, Managing Director of Maltha. “We are proud to be setting benchmarks for quality and sustainability in our industry.”
