InterAutoGlass in The International Master Fitter Competition 2008

Date: 7 July 2008

International Automotive Glass Federation™ has decided on the details of The International Master Fitter Competition 2008.

This international competition for autoglass specialists will take place during tradeshow glasstec in Düsseldorf, Germany, 21 – 25 October 2008.

“The competition is originally developed by the AGE”, says Pim de Ridder, managing director of InterAutoGlass. “Its history is based on the efforts of Messe Düsseldorf during the last glasstec tradeshows to give a platform to the automotive glass replacement and repair market. We as new global federation are very proud to take part in it. And we will be actively involved in this huge event as in the national Dutch and German competitions, also taking place during glasstec”.

The competition is open to the winner of national competitions, held with the same criteria as the international version. De Ridder: “We call such a winner the national hero. They will compete on the repair of a windscreen / windshield damage and on the replacement of a side window, a rear window and a windscreen. Each participating country will also nominate a member of the jury, headed by Arne Hansen from Norway. I’m sure all participants are imbued with their crucial role in the safety of the driver and the vehicle passengers. Therefore quality and quality only is the device of our competition.”

A series of countries already committed themselves to send their “heroes”. The application for participation has to be sent to InterAutoGlass before 15th of August 2008. http://www.glasstec.de
