The Leader in Fenestration Robotic Automation Introduces New Product.

GED, who first brought robotic automation to the fenestration industry, will be introducing the newest RoboFlow™ product to the world at the 2019 GlassBuild America: The Glass, Window and Door Expo. This passthrough system rounds out the RoboFlow product family by taking cut vinyl from welding through cleaning with just one operator.

“GED is again setting the standard in vinyl window manufacturing with this passthrough system as we build on our robotic expertise,” said Dave Lewis, Window Fabrication Engineering Manager at GED. “RoboFlow PT utilizes four robotic heads for unparalleled cleaning and fabrication.”

The RoboFlow family of products streamlines the process from welding through cleaning. The first product in the family, RoboFlow QB, utilizes a material handling robot to connect a welder to RoboClean®, a two-station robotic cleaner. The commercial success of this product demonstrated the need for automation between welding and cleaning and provided the opportunity for a reconfigured product that achieved higher throughput.

RoboFlow PT fulfills that opportunity with a redesign of the cleaning process to be a passthrough system with four independent robotic cleaning heads. Now just one operator can produce a welded and cleaned sash every 30 seconds to keep production moving. “Robotically precise, repeatable cleans every 30 seconds—what more could you ask for?” quipped Lewis.

Daniel McLean, Product Manager for GED, sees additional benefits that go beyond the new RoboFlow PT:

“The robotic platform is a superior technology for vinyl cleaning, and with GED behind it our customers can leverage our extensive expertise in window manufacturing, IG systems, and software solutions. As manufacturers seek to standardize systems and processes, GED truly is the best choice.”

GED will have live demonstrations of RoboFlow PT during GlassBuild 2019 in Atlanta, September 17-19. Make sure to stop by booth 1935 to observe the speed and precision of GED’s newest robotic system.
