The winners of the prestigious CircuClarity Award 2024 were announced at Glasstec, celebrating the trailblazers who are driving a more sustainable and circular future in the glass and façade industry.

Their pioneering projects demonstrate remarkable contributions toward resource efficiency and innovation. The award ceremony was led by Lars Wismer, Director of Glasstec, along with CircuClarity One hosts Prof. Dr. Linda Hildebrand and Dr. Lisa Rammig, who proudly presented the winners with their trophies.

The CircuClarity Award recognizes achievements in five key categories:

  •  Category Reuse:
    Maarten Rood, Director of GSF Glasgroep BV, was honored for the 2 GSF isoMAx, the first factory in the world to produce entirely circular insulating glass, showcasing a breakthrough in reuse.
  •  Category Climate Neutrality:
    Thomas C. Sauer from EXXOSQEL GmbH won for the CN 2_NEXXOL, an innovative glass coating technology that enables lightweighting with significantly reduced costs, energy, and material usage, advancing the path to climate neutrality.
  •  Category Recycling (Shared Prize):
    Dr. François Guillemot from Saint-Gobain Glass was recognized for his work in applying a holistic, circular approach to the efficient reuse of used glass. Additionally, Dr. Faidra Oikonomopoulou and Dr. Telesilla Bristogianni from Delft University of Technology were awarded for their groundbreaking research on Re3 Glass.
  •  Category Smart Process:
    Graham Coult from Eckersley O'Callaghan won for the SP 1 Glazing Recovery, a digital platform connecting key players in the glass industry to recognize used glass as a valuable resource, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  •  Category Student:
    Max Brandenstein and Emanuel Nowak from Technische Universität Darmstadt received recognition for their ambitious research into the potential of glass reuse, marking a promising future for sustainable innovation in the next generation.

Congratulations to all the winners for their outstanding contributions to advancing the circular economy and raising awareness about the critical role of glass as a valuable resource in sustainable development!
