CE Marking - Producing a technical information label

As an independent glass processing company we have an ever increasing array of different glass products that we incoporate into IGU's. CE marking for IGU manufacturers will become compulsory from March 2007, therefore we will be required to produce a technical information label like those being displayed on the likes of Pilkingtons and Glaverbels websites. There is potential and infinite amount of IGU combinations, which in turn means there an infinite amount of technical labels to be produced.

CE Marking

The first of September is the mandatory date for CE marking for glass products for building (float glass, patterned glass, coated glass, thermally tempered, and heat-strengthened glass). What is your opinion? What changes will be brought about in reference to the introduction of CE marking? Your comments regarding this theme are welcome.

Glazing rules France

Hi
I'm English and setting up a company in France to produce decorative flat glass for door, windows, cabinets etc.
I'll be offering double glazed units or single glass.
I'll be using films, bevels, lead and paint to decorate initially and hope to start fusing in the near future.
I'm having trouble finding information on safety glass regulations and standards for DG units for France.
Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Glass covered swimming pool.

We are setting up a museum in an old building which once housed a Victorian swimming pool. We have uncovered a corner of the deep end, and want to make a feature of it in the building. As it is 8 foot deep, we cannot sensibly have water in it, but want to put a glass or similar cover over it for safety and to give the impression of water. This restored pool area is 2 metres square, and will not be walked over by the public, but we clearly have to allow for that happening.

Slump glass

I work for a scenery and props place and I am looking for a company to do some slump formed glass for some podiums we are making. The base of the podium will be made from aluminum, but there will be a glass panel wrapping around it. The dimensions will all be a little different in size (range approx 15" to 28" wide and 32" tall from the front view), radius of the bend is 3". It is a fairly drastic bend and a rather large piece of glass. Does anyone have any suggestions on who can make this piece of glass for us???
Thank you,
